Pedro J. Belo is currently the President of PJBelo Consulting, a financial consulting company headquartered in New Jersey. From 2000 to 2009, he was President & CEO of Millennium bcpbank in the United States. From 1996 to 2005 he was also the General Manager and Executive Vice President of Millennium BCP in New York City. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Belo was Head of the International Division of Millennium BCP in Lisbon. Before joining BCP in 1992 he served in various capacities with Banco Português do Atlântico. From 1983 to 1992 he held several management positions in the bank’s overseas branches in London, New York and Madrid. Mr. Belo was the Chairman of bcpbank in Canada from 2000 to 2006 and a Member of the Board of Directors of BITAL (Banco Internacional de Mexico) from 1997 to 2001. He was also President of the Portugal-US Chamber of Commerce in New York from 1998 to 2000 and in January of 2001 was appointed Counselor to the Portuguese Economic Minister for the internationalization of the Portuguese economy. Mr. Belo is actively involved in the communities that bcpbank serves. He is a board member of the IBID (Ironbound Business Improvement District), Newark Workforce Investment Board, Brick City Development Corporation and Newark Police Foundation (appointed by the Mayor of the City of Newark). He also serves on the Council of Trustees for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and on the Saint Barnabas Greater Newark Community Advisory Board. Mr. Belo was born in Lisbon in 1955. He holds a degree in Economics granted by the University of Lisbon and attended the Advanced Management Program for Overseas Bankers at the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania in 1990. He also attended an Executive Company Program from Insead in Fontainebleau in 1998. He currently lives in Jersey City, New Jersey, is married and the father of three children. His hobbies include golf, skiing and reading.
