Message From the Mayor

2011 will be the year we create new jobs and develop infrastructure by jumpstarting the television and film industry in Newark. The City of Newark, with its rich architectural diversity, available property for the development of production facilities, and proximity to New York City, has the potential to become a significant hub for the film and television industries. To this end, we have created the Newark Office of Film and Television (NOFT) to cultivate Newark’s entertainment industry, increase Newark’s visibility on a national scale as a destination for filming, and establish opportunities for our City’s youth to learn about film and production.
